Anuradhapura
The Timeless City of Kings
As you approach Anuradhapura, a sense of reverence fills the air. The towering dagobas, ancient stone pillars, and sacred Bodhi trees whisper stories of a glorious past. Day 01 Kalpitiya
Departure with Emirates / Qatar in the afternoon (depending on departure date). We stopover in Dubai / Doha and after a short stay the journey continues towards Sri Lanka and the capital Colombo (food on the plane).
Day 02 Anuradhapura
We land in Colombo in the morning (food on the plane) and have the whole day ahead of us after immigration.
From the airport we drive to our hotel in Habarana *. The guide gives us an introduction to the country, the people and the culture on the way up to Habarana.
Lunch along the way and back at the hotel we check in and have the afternoon to relax. Maybe enjoy the pool or stroll around the beautiful surroundings?
Shared dinner at the hotel – welcome to Sri Lanka!
* On our departure with Qatar in February 2025, we will arrive at the hotel early enough that we can check in and get some extra sleep before the day starts.

Train tickets from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya/Nanu Oya can only be confirmed 48 hours in advance. Alternatively, take a bus through the magnificent scenery.

PASSPORT / VISA
All Norwegian citizens must have a visa to enter Sri Lanka. Please apply for a visa no later than 3 weeks before departure so that you have plenty of time. Visas can be applied for here .
The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that the passport is valid for themselves and for those for whom the trip has been booked.
